News from South America

Hi guys,

Here in South America, after 3'500 km, the bike trip continues toward north along Chile and Argentina. 2 months more and return just in time for the 2012 season with iron legs.
Hopefully we can also train the mtb up and down hill technic:

Perhaps a new member for 2012, but I must be carefull with Labricot.

She must improve the up hill but is ok for down hill on stonny trails:

In any case I will now be able to bring beers and barbecue staff on the bike for Tuesday evening dinners:
See you soon,
Beau-joe-lais

The Winter Schedule.......how to keep yourself fit during the cold and dark days

For those that don't want to be surprised end March 2011 by the announcement; "Bike Season has started"!.......and want to do more than be houseplant (read: become a fat bastard) or have you ass carried up by a chairlift and subsequently slight down a groomed slope between lots of "sportive" people.....Here are two options that keep you fit during winter and involve, yes!.....Sweating!

XC SKIING:
- When: Tuesday nights
- Where: La Vattay - Jura
- Time: 19h00 departure at La Vattay ski station or Meeting point Gex at 18h30
- What to bring; XC ski's, XC skiing gear that breaths and keeps you warm, light and dry clothes for afterwards

VELODROME:
- When: Thursday nights
- Where: Vel d'Hiv de Geneve, Centre Sportif de la Queue d'Arve, 12 Rue Francois Dussaud.
- Time: 18h00 or later the Velodrome is open until 21h30
- What to bring: Roady gear.......
- New bees: Wednesday evening is for newbees......if you want to try let me know and I will get it set up.
- See also Missiles post for more details.

Depending on weather / snow conditions timing and place may change. Of course the aim is to go eating afterwards!

Heads Up - Velodrome - Opens 27'th September !!

Not as much fun as fat wheels for sure, and you may think its not your thing.....

but its inside biking when the weather is crap !

And (surprisingly), its quite a lot of fun.

And it will get you fit in a hurry.....

Plus its an excuse to buy another bike !!! (been there, done that!!!)

Wednesday evenings are 'initiation' - bike shops (Hot Point for one) offer to loan bikes so you can try for free without any obligation, or even paying to use the velodrome.

For those (like me) who will go quite often, you need to buy a yearly pass - 150 CHF.

Details below.
