Fondoo Too!!! - The pics....

Thanks all for a super night!
The first social....Oooooooooo!.........Up your!
Bla, bla, bla........Ha, ha ha!
Is food ready yet?
Swiss Betty was there too.....!

A little bit of cheese, some wine, stir with love....Attack!
A bit of RTFM.....!
I have never seen a pot of cheese fondue disappear so fast.
Missile it was top.....! Very very yummie!
We were almost all there....Cheers!
Boumboum is thinking....I want more food!
Movember Hardus / Honey badger....We are going to miss you!
Thanks for the chain link!
More melted cheese in the making!
Ahhhhh......More food!
A nice little fire....to keep us warm / cooked!
Riding gear is drying / warming for the return trip
Dessert...Meringues a la creme de Gruyere.
You don't want to miss any of it!
Plate licking good!
A picture says it all.....

I am not drunk....I am awesome :-)
Time to clean and ride back....
The ride back. What a crispy night and beautiful sky.
-8C and happy.

Thank you all for a fantastic night. Links to the cabin(s) can be found here and here! The rest is all;"To much information". Ride stats, comments, etc. are welcome

See you on the snow shoes!

Fondoo Too!!!

Distance - just enough to get there and back safely
Temp - too cold to ride in summer clothes (but some tried)
Time - just right for feasting and drinking and...
Wine - more than enough for once!!!
Fondoo - a tad less than enough for once but....you're thanking me this morning...non?
Information -  Too Much!!

Riders: Honeybadger, Dopey, Limoncello, Papy, Boum Boum, Nameless, Missile

Honeybadger proved that indeed he is "hard-us-nails" it was -2C at the start and he rode there with FINGERLESS gloves! Chapeau!!

....garlic chopping instructions were shared....nameless performed beautifully....
.....Nameless promised us all early christmas presents in the form of nice leatherman....

.....A successful fondoo making proved the missile still has it !!!
Round one was made with more care and attention than at home....
.....seen that film "Gone in 60 seconds"..... well that was about how much it lasted.

round 2 was 'different', good but not as good as the first round....normal - was a pre-made version masquerading as a 'just cheese' version....hats of to nameless who RTFM and avoided a potential dissater of round 1.

Dopey was on fine form, burning peoples asses off with his fire. But disappointingly....no tree was dragged in to the fire this time... BOO!!

There was TMI at varying instances during the evening....relating to bodily fluids, or more accurately bodily not-so-fluids......and various other NPC-for-dinner subjects

Those with a ball and chain shared their "post-fondoo-no-nookie" stories much to the hilarity of those with calloused palms....just you wait and see!!!

Missile was bursting at the seams with enthusiasm for his fondoo (see gone in 60 seconds above) but also with bodily gases from both ends....

meanwhile....some ladies drank coke from their emergency kits.... AAAAAGGGHH????

The return trip- -6C and counting....brrr..... no OTB but...

Missile & Dopey scared the living sh!t out of the rocks and grass (and themselves) on the way down the twisty turny part....disaster beckoned at every corner, but wine induced steering control saved the day beautifully and grins, high fives and manic laughter were shared at the bottom!!

Broken chains: 2 - dopey power proved to be just too much on two occasions (well the second was due to a botched job at the first repair....but never mind....it allowed me to catch my breath.)

....ze frenchee...hee ees atennshun paying...NOT...'merde alors'.... ze iys did srow mee on ze graund....
....ze frenchee...hee ees loocking at ze graund and....'merde alors'....vhere deed ze rowd go and vy am ai ryding in ze feeld ??

Then..... CRAP ATTACK..... preceded by VOMIT ATTACK ! Missile shared his repast of the previous hour and then his repast of the previous day with the woods.....aahhhh thats better!!! As Shrek says 'Better Out Than In"....

And with that.....LAPSANG SOUCHONG to you all until next time !!!!

Ride Report - The BBQ ride....!!

Joe's thanks for a fanastic evening BBQ-ing and riding. Here are the statistics and highlights:
  • Distance: 36 km
  • Meters climbed: 960m
  • Train: Stopped in Arzier due to works on the bridge. Logistics chaotic and badly communicated. We expect better from the Swiss...Ride start: Arzier.
  • Riding time: 2h30....
  • Gone playing and eating: 6h00....
  • Shortest ride ever: Newbee Joe pils: 1km, 50m climb....10 minutes pedaling. Then he died!!
  • Burgers: eaten: 14, hidden under a rock: 1 and shared: 1.
  • Beers: drunk: 8, shared: 4.
  • Dessert: more then a normal human can handle after 3 burgers!
Points recommendations:
  • Boumboum: making it by feet and beating the bikers: +2
  • The South African crowd:....Where shall we start..... :-))))
  1. Honeybadger: Started the evening about ZA hunting stories but showed up with a bag-pack the size of a wallet and complained being cold: -1
  2. Honeybadger: We highly appreciated new riding buddy's! It's always good to meet people with the same passion and share the trails. Honeybadger has just gotten married but seems not to be able to stop picking up people while in bars. That where he find is new riding buddy's......I guess under the join of a beer the stories get shared and yes, beer stories go everywhere. Honeybadger's new riders input equals that of Nameless.....but unfortunately the quality is shabby. One rider made it through the ride but has never be seen again. The story goes that he couldn't walk for a week.....and the latest new input, called "Joe Pils" for the time being, made it 1k, 50m up into the ride before he and his reflector equipped 29er crashed of the side of the road. He broke a record.....but not one to be proud of.....The question? Will we see him ever again? Advice....check on newbee rider quality in sober state. Honeybadger: -1.
  3. Honeybadger: The man from the land of the Braai....the only one with 2 burgers eaten and one hidden: -0.5.
  4. Joe Pils:.....what can we say. Did he over estimated himself or was he badly informed? We are happy he got home safe: -1 point....what ever that means.
  • The George Everst award: Missile.....still needed to go bushwhacking and trail searching. There must be a way up here...!! Points: -0.25.
  • Flipping bitch award: Nascar.....2.75m in the return ride Nascar flipped a stylish bike turning OTB in front of the crowd. What a beauty! +1 point. Did I miss another one ??
  • Last minute Missile mayonaise input: A L3Mi....+0.25 points.
  • (To) late cancellation: Nameless: -1 point @ a cost of CHF 25.
Quotes of the night:
  • I gained 8 kilo's!....Boumboum.
  • I feel like a smoked sausage.....Dopey
Thanks all for a good evening. Input and comments welcome!
PS 1. For those that like to ride uphill: La Barillette race this weekend.
PS 2. Advise: confirm when you are sure you can make it. It's so easy to cancel when you are not organizing.
Eating, talking, drinking, laughing, star watching....!
The cream bar. Includeding ZA hot sauce and L3Mi...!

Burgers gone..!!
