Rocky Rhone Ride

Ride Summary:
After an on time meeting at Stand de Tir, and a slightly delayed start, 6 riders headed along the Rhone at speed for a fun night out. After dodging runners, walkers, dogs and tree stumps (Limoncello excluded), those with lights gave those without an idea of the path through the forest. Sadly, half way through the awesome ride, Papy's clean and shiny Rocky got a branch through the transmission and that was the end of the fun... for Papy. Many points for helpers and victims (below) and a return through Plan-les-Oautes to the warmth of the cars. Man it was freezing out there! Charbonnade was enjoyed by all after much debate with the lady waitress about lack of beef, bread and beer! Plenty laughter and socials after solving the food and drink problems, and a happy night for all.

The Points:
+1 for all attendees - Papy, Missile, Labrico, Dopey, Limoncello and Zulu
+1 for last Tuesday ride of the "season" - as above
+1 for OTB (or "over the side") to Limoncello (the first of the season)
+1 for blood - same Jo as above
-1 for underwearing - same Jo as above (and showing everyone his ass)
-1 for being an ijit and forgetting lights - Zulu
+1 for team work and showing the way - Missile (what a gent)
+0.5 for getting thru the ride in the dark - Zulu (hey there were some scary moments)
+1 for major bike accident and having to ride home single speed - Papy
+0.5 for mechanical help - Dopey (mister fix-it)
+0.5 for being on time, riding to and from the tour (with Mathis waiting) and generally making the ride good - Labrico
+1 for hosting (kinda) - Zulu

Quote of tht Night:
Aves vous encore de frites!! (Dopey, directly after the waitress has delivered 5 bowls of golden fried pommes de terre)

Thanks to all for a fun ride and overall excellent evening. Lets keep it up even though the official points-earning season is over!!

zip ties....dont leave home without one...

yesterday I installed my new wheels on my SS and went for a quick spin.....macgyver would have been proud of me....the only rear disc I had on hand was 200mm which (I only realised 10 minutes into the ride) was rubbing on the frame!!!). A zip tie in just the right place saved my left chain stay and I continued my ride !! One more point for zip ties!! Dont leave home without one !!!
