All good so far.
They have been keeping us busy: up, coffee, breakfast, bag, tent, change, RACE, clean bikes, clean ourselves, clean clothing, eat something, relax, dinner, sleep and repeat 7 times.
We have just end day 6. So far so good.
We have our race pace, no accelerations, no burnings and roll.
Till now no mechanical so far, neither flat tire... Touch wood
Around us the guys keep having new injuries ( lots of blood points here), bones, sprains, and anything literally you can snap, break, bend, fuck in a bike has been done. I'm still with the same set of tires and brake pads (maybe I ride like a pussy?)
Anyway, happy as I'm in the kids team class due to my still pampered buddy. Compared to the +80 class I would be 4th, so my best ever, but, I'm not in that class... So crank it and shut.
As Missile pointed, the heat has come, yes, but the woods are still wet, so if it is true that some trails are dry, more than half every day is in areas with no to almost no sun, so we are still in a wet root fest.
Hopefully the wealthy boys at Whistler have dry out the trails for us tomorrow.
Cheers
Great write up! Keep it steady...11th is nice 10th would be better, a finish with a big smile on your face is top!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Slovenia...
Sounds like quite A race - glad all goes well for you. I send you sun and dusty trails from South of France. Hang on !
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys made it alive and kicking.
