Well, it was a classic ride on the saleve: it was dry, it was sunny (above the clouds that covered Geneva without mercy), Labrico fell and dislocated his shoulder (again), JeanMi was supposed to come but didn't make it, Hardus was cooked at the end, BoumBoum is back to the usual "you only see me when we stop" kind of attitude, Nameless was actually early (and went for his own downhilling adventure before the other guys arrived), the leaves covered the ground making it impossible to know when the front wheel would run into a rock and send you bouncing off, and we did about 40 km and 800m climb.
BB has an idea which hopefully we'll put to test next season, a plan to ride up and climb, then have dinner somewhere nice in the mountain, then speed down again with bellies full and heads spinning from the wine. Sound like a plan?
Last but not least, for those of you interested to know the whereabouts of our 2011 newbie BeauJoeLais, here's the link to the blog where they're sharing the adventure. BueaJoeLais and his girlfriend are on a journey from Tierra del Fuego to Bolivia on, you guessed it, bicycles. The blog is fun and shows pictures of the places they're passing, have a look: http://baclum.over-blog.it/
That's all folks...
Nice summary Nameless of indeed a beautiful day. One correction only - Papy made it - late - but after tending injured kid at soccer game...was 5-10 minutes behind you - saw the injured LaBrico at his place ! Would have been better with yoi but still rode 51km-3.59hrs and finished in pitch dark after roaming the Saleve to catch up with you.Such it was that day !
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for Papy and the fall of Labrico, but what an autumn day!
ReplyDeletePictures, ride statics....beers drunk?
ReplyDeleteLabrico....ndd...c'est pas possible!!!
ReplyDeletemais oui, bien sur que c'est possible...and of course, when we suggested we take the road to go back, he refused, even though he couldn't lift his arm! I told him that anyone else in his situation would now have to think of using the left hand for a while, if you know what I mean!
ReplyDeletePapy - sorry you didn't catch up, from the phone calls I thought you drove out but didn't get on the bike...ca sera la prochaine fois alors!
