BC Bike Race - Day 6 - squawmish - squawmish

This morning I got up late. 6:00 am 

I could have stayed in bed later but why break a good habit. 

We have time this morning as we stay here tonight. No buses ferries or other modes of transport. 

NASCAR fills his plate with oatmeal. If he ever stays with you feed him that he loves it. The other stuff was pretty tasteless. 

Back at the tent Dopey got mooned good. By me. Not sure what for but he deserved it.

We get interviewed. Dopey does all the talking. My 3 words: stamina. Awesome riding. Singletrack. 4 I know but who's counting. 

9:00 am we start. Feelng good. I had my advil so my back should stay in fine shape. Or not. We'll see. 

A few kms on the road to the woods. Then in. Sorry to repeat myself but .....awesome. Some highlights...

Fireroad start then into some steep single track. Pulse is high but the engine is not warm yet. Layer I am climbing something steep and am only at 141. Steady and sure. No rushing. Keep the pedals turning. Push pull. Pull push. I'm climbing great. 

Out into a clear cut zone. Bermy berm land!!! O m g. Lefty turny eighty turny faster and faster. Banked berms in every corner. Dopey is flying. Missile is flying. Flies are firing in our teeth.

Over too soon.

More climbing(1500m to do today). Steep. Steeper. Flat. Half Nelson awaits. O M G. #2 

Remember your grandpas bald head (or maybe Joe Goats) ? That smooth. The best jump you ever did. Loads of them. How long. 10 minutes?? Maybe more. Twisty turny jumpy jump jumps.  Lefty eighty flyy Dopey disappears. Missile is jumping. But not too high. Fingers oblige!!

Dopey: best trail I have ever ridden

Kike:in 3 words: aw so mmmm... and also the singletracks!!!

Missile: fly me baby. 

Climbing on fireroad and then into some " real" downhill. Oscar has been moaning there has been no downhill.  He has been served. Dopey too. He goes over the bars. Bruises. Ripped cat shirt. Eek!!! Broken helmet and swolen eye.

....rocks everywhere. Not the " baby heads" of yesterday but smooth slippery steep rocks everywhere. Oscar rides "everything". Dopey and Missile walk some. Dopey is a tad rattled. Kike is aw sum as he rides it all with a buggered shoulder. 

.....climbing climbing. Hnad made and hand polished ( sweat polished too) singletrack thru the ferns twisty turny up and up backwards and forwards. Sooooooooo niiiiiiiiccce. Downhill the same. Niiiiiiccceee. 

Ok that's about it. Whistler tomorrow. See you there.
