Ride this Week End - Eau Froide

Hey there,
I have an idea for this WE ! To do something else once, what about a ride in the mountains ?
Meteo is expected to be good saturday, sunday also.
I propose the hidden trail of the Chablais : la descente de l'Eau Froide, above Roche.
We could go in Glion or Montreux, reach the summit of Rochers de Naye (2000 m) with the train then go down to col de Chaude by very technical trails and reach the Lac de l'Hongrin (1255m) through funny 'alpage' trails. Then long 'traversée' close to the Hongrin lake (trail 50% bike, 50% walk for 20-30', then 7 km pedalling ) to reach the 'Eau Froide River' and one of the oldest dam, the 'Joux Verte' dam (17th century ?). Some historical explonations....  And then... the rest I can't explain...If you like flowy trails, with terrible grip and endless curves, then ..... FORGET about it !!!!! The trail in the Gorges de l'Eau Froide is rocky, loose, with tons of hairspins, technical, slow, endless... but funny and not dangerous. Then arrival above the Roche village at 400 m and way back to Villeneuve-Veytaux (5km flat), then nice single trails in the Veytaux area to be back in Montreux.

Duration : 1h train + 3h00 of riding. There is also a possibility to add one descent of the rochers de naye for those who need more...
Around 1800m- and 300m+, 30 km

Proposed Schedule :
8:43 Montreux (no park place) or 9:00 Glion (plenty of place), funiculaire every 15' in Montreux to get back there at the end of the ride
9:40 Arrival in Naye (2000m)
13:40 - 14:00 Back in Montreux, dinner
Optionnal : 14:43 Train to Naye, Arrival at 15:40 in Naye. last downhill with arrival around 16:45 in Montreux.
Here is my proposal, but I'm open to others.

Satudray, I should be back around 16:00, sunday no limits..

    3. Is that sunday? I might be able to join you on sunday if you don't mind a newbie holding you up. I would arrive by train. Respect to Jo Alpine for finding that trail. I have often looked at it on the map.

  5. Alpine...have you decided which day already? Sunday I am planning to ride with Hotpoint Specialized Serge. He will join if we do Roche de Naye on Sunday...

PS This maybe a good port unity to deal with the seat posts... :-)
