Papy, Boum Boum, Limoncello, Zorbas and I tackled the ride.
I scoped out the ride on the Sunday before, in daylight with a bit more time on my hands... All started well enough, Papy complaining about any / all the hills, Boum Boum getting impatient about hitting the trails and asking whether this was a roadie ride on his MTB...
We climbed up towards Ballaison and then round back to enter the Mont de Boisy, a little muddy, but nothing to worry us too much. On the way up we came across beautiul pack of young horses, then took a gentle single track down to a great view spot, see selfie pic below. We then took little more single down to Sciez, through Sciez, and on into "Les Grand Bois". This is where things got a little fuzzy and mucky!!! I had things covered the prevoius Sunday, but things looked quite different at night... I wouldn't say we got LOST... (others might), we just did a few more loops than planned, and we came across one tree that looked remarkably like one we had seen before...
We eventually made our way out of the "Deliverance" woods, Limoncello halucinating about banjos and squealing warthogs in the dark?!?! We made a bee-line for home as time was marching on, Boum Boum quickly running out of steam!!! He only just made it back to my place. First time i have seen him in that "bonked" condition (he ran 42km on Sunday as a preparatory run for the Geneva marathon on 3 May) - crazy guy!!!
Here are the ride stats...
Distance: 37km
Ride time: 2h30min
Elev gain: 500m

Pointage allocated as follows:
+1 point for Balls hosting

Again, huge fun had by all, good company, and great laughs all night long.
