PAPY AIN'T NO CHICKEN !!!
As the Brit went back home, Papy the Swiss went on riding ! Haut les coeurs !
A nice warm western wind pushed me to the Joicy Woods, short arms jersey on as well as Bono and Sir Mick playing for me !!
Rain came sometime....found refuge under the Ball Trap shooting stand..went on despite all, bike did not get muddy as the rain washed it off...got 50 years younger as I rode ALL the water puddles on my way..headed back home in the dark (little lights only..) to get scared by wild animal rushing across the path...a wild boar, a badger, a fox, a mouse, not a snail....can't say !
Western wind got colder, so did fingers, muddy, drenched but happy under a cloudy sky in the night made way home..to the Café des Amis ! Do not name me Chicken anymore.

26 October - Last Ride - Brazilian XXL OR 7 Bisses OR Joest's Chandolin ride
Depending on the weather - but I plan for the best....I have three proposals:
Either
The Brazilian XXL (meet at Chalais teleferique at 8:30)
Braziliann XXL
or
7 Bisses Du Valais (Sierre train station at 8:30)
7 Bisses
or
Joests Chandolin ride (7:45 Bus from Sierre)
Chandolin - Illsee
As we 'gain' an hour on Sunday, getting up at 6 will be like getting up at 7 (the hours go back one hour) so an early start is possible: I plan the details based on interest later in the week.
I am partial to the Chandolin - Illsee - Joest says its pretty 'good'. Depending on timing we could do that and then "funi" up to Crans and do the last part of the 7 bisses: Crans - Christ Roi -> Sion which is always "fun"!!
21 October - 18:30 - Camel Trophy Chez Missile
Depart 18:30 !! Bring your lights.
Pasta Party apres chez moi.
Let me know today if possible

Strava Mapping Tool - No More Searching for "that" ride
Strava also automagically!! tracks segments (parts) of your track and compares your performance to others !!! Great to start racing one another...
However, getting a visual overview of your tracks was a little tricky, until now!!
A 3'rd party app will visually show all your Strava tracks on one handy map and provide a link to each track, so you can quickly and easily find your tracks, to share, download, edit or whatever.
Here is the link:http://www.jonathanokeeffe.com/strava/multi-ride-mapper/
You will need to link to your strava account and then save the page for future reference!!
Easy.
See below: List on the left is all my rides. Map on the right shows all the tracks on google maps.
Click on either one to go to the ride data on strava!!

The Reset Ride - Tuesday October 14, 2014 - Bords du Rhône
32 km of frantic ride in the dark at an average speed of 14 kmh, following blindly guide-master Boum-Boum in the darkness of the Bords du Rhône.
Elevation.. some "coups de cul", downhill only one.. where unfortunately LaBrico tried to decapitate himself...(hope you are fine mec) Exciting muddy, slippery, twisty single tracking on the menu. Visiting the Geneva wineyards and "Châteaux-Vieux" an experience. A great Ride !
Finally rushed to Brasserie de St Georges - right on time - stuffed our faces with the promised fondue chinoise - with french fries - and mucho Beers - Williamine was invited at the end of the dinner...Waitress lost her mind when she saw us and same for the final bill...honesty was here - bravo !
Can hardly remember all insanities that were said but one was a ride around the Mont-Blanc during summer 2015. (version liberté - no guide, only GPS, Velorizon to book hotels and carry bags)
No mechanical, no flat, ONE OTB graciously offered by Jo Balls - some scrapes on his pride and body - he will recover - a broken rear brake lever......merde alors.
Nighters: Missile, LaBrico, Balls, Boum-Boum, Limoncello and Papy.
Congrats to:
Missile who came on his bluet bike from the other side of the wall and back..over 60 km.
Boum-Boum who disappeared in the night returning home instead of car pooling while being offered.
Balls for the return of Jo Balls.
Limoncello for providing a lock for studs.
Papy for struggling along on uphills...only the uphills !

Ride report - Calimero vs Forghorn
Last Sunday two wet chickens fell from their beds around 6 in the morning. Forghorn was influenced by Calimero as it may be too challenging meeting in Sierre before 8am!

Once arriving in the "coeur du Vallais" the weather was with us, conditions were just perfect!
Despite his charisma Forghorn was again influenced by the adventurer Calimero to modify the usual "Brazilian" trail, while making a detour to Pas de Lovegnol, no big surprise it is always better to discover new trails.
On the track I must admit; this time Forghorn converted his 29-zimmer frame to a missile and flew on the trail many time faster than the "trotinette" that was filming him behind. This exces of speed was rewarded by a nice crash, a broken chain and certainly a damaged rear hanger. For Calimero nothing could hurt his 18kg armor bike except the excess of dust collected which would probably increase his global weight.
Back on the valley after such a great effort, it was the time for a fondue and fendant :-)
While coming back home Forghorn, noticed something strange in the honda jazz, there is no space, no integrated massage, no powerful acceleration, only hamster power and hopefully AC and adjustable seats... so boring compared to his BMW which has repetitive failures... then he finally fell asleep...
The morality is: the cheaper is your car the better chance you have to get an executive driver!

Fondoo Run: Attempt #2 - WEDNESDAY 8th October
Yep…it’s that time again – I can’t do Tuesday so Wednesday is the proposal!
The trains are running all the way up now so the meeting point is as follows:
- Train @ 17:55 from L’Asse
OR
- 18:40 at La Givrine.
For those who come by car to La Givrine:
- There is a diversion in place on the road (Hauteur de Trelex) to St Cergue so leave an extra 10 minutes to make it.
- You (may) have to make your own way back to the car at la Givrine. Those on the train take another route, BUT bring your GPS loaded with the trail I send to you and all will be fine!!
Let me know by end of Tuesday next week.
Bring:
- 25 CHF to cover the expenses….(I will buy all we need) – if you say you come and you don’t you will still owe me!!
- Lights for outside
- Lights for inside
- Change of clothes
- Etc..
See you there!!!

The burial tombs Ride Report
Two Niner bluebirds flew over the tracks on September 2. Starting in Céligny plus meal at a very nice cottage just next to Lake Geneva. View of the Mont-Blanc, private port, the whole shebang...
There was a lesson to be learned from this ride: do not try something different that "Bord de la Versoix" or "Mont-Mussy". Not many trails.
The highlight (!!!) was visiting the old cemetery of Celigny, with tombs of famous people like Richard Burton and Alistair MacLean. A rare moment of reflection in the Tuesday rides...
Specs: 36 km, 2:11, 623m up
Riders: Missile & Boumboum +1
+1 Missile for the historic visit of the old cemetery of Céligny
+1 Missile for a special OTB (on the back, the back of Missile in this case)
+0.5 Boumboum, tour leader (but too many concrete & dirt roads)
+1 Boumboum for food supply
+5 for the owner of the "chemin de la Poissonnière" lakefront
