Thank you all again for your visits, calls, magazines, help and support. I'm going to get well quickly and be stronger, but more importantly, WISER, on the other side of this. I'm also going to have to put the troitinette away!!!
Labrico very kindly dropped off research on the trip we plan in August as motivation for me, so I've got my work cut out!!!
Ciao, JB (have I mentioned how good morphine is?!?!?)
By the way: how many "blood points" do I get for 4 broken ribs, a dented lung, compressed vertibrae and a haemathoma on my hip? Ref, please be generous!!!
See you all on the trails soon!
Balls, your spirit is incredible. All your fellow bikers friends are wishing you well and back on your feet as soon as possible. Remet toi rapidement !
ReplyDeleteBalls....I think that the cut on the elbow is the only one that really counts as all the others didnt let the red juice flow!!! However, in lieu of all the rides you are likely to miss...I award 1 pt per rib, 1 for the vertebrtae, 1 for the stitches in the elbow and an additional 2 for all the other bruises but especially the fine spirit!!! By my count that makes 8 !!
ReplyDeleteAny yes, morphine is good....I actually had an awesome out-of-body-experience when I had my car accident in 89!!! 8 days of morphine will do that to you....
Seriously though, watch out, I here the stuff is somewhat addictive!!
Hey Balls, just got back from a holiday and I check in with the blog only to find you've taken a hit!
ReplyDeleteVery sorry to hear that, not sure what happened but I'm sure you'll be telling the story soon over a few beer.
Hope you're doing better, hope you get well soon.
Just a note: seems you're living up to your MTB name, judging by the comments on your stoicism at the hospital!
ReplyDeleteHey Nameless, yes I took a spill while coming down the Saleve. We weren't riding anything technical, I just hit the ground harder than I ever have before. not even an OTB, so quite weird!!!
ReplyDeleteI will give you the finer details when I see you next.
Ride safe,
JB
