Mark your calendars! Option 1) Col de La Givrine - skating / snowshoeing and eating fondoo at la Genoliére. Option 2) Col du Marhchairuz - snowshoeing and self made fondoo at one of the cabins.
Would you like to try a new hut? The Chalet de la Croix is close to the Refuge de la Joratte and 1.5km of the Marchairuz road. Lot's of space, like Cabane des Electriciens.
Not sure if it is new...I think I have been there but it was a long time ago maybe it was Poêle Chaud instead. Look fine to me but I also like a cosy one, La Joratte...
Today hasnt worked out like I planned - I suggest we meet at the usual spot in La Givrine at 19:00 for some skating/snowshoeing as you wish.
For the eating, I have an option for la genoliere but they are full for the moment. I will ring la trelasse too. Failing that we fall back to St Cergue for a fondoo in one of the restauarants there.
Whoo....what an evening....-14C at the start -17C at the end. Sandpaper snow. Overheating. Windchill factor X(3) Fondoo....blanc (two heros brought their emergency kits!!!) Roesti! Black girls (guess who)..new sport: pushing downhill (instead of sliding) !!! As always...great fun!! See you next time
I'm in and vote for option 2!

DeleteBoth are nice but La Joratte has the size of a finish sauna.
ReplyDeletemight be nice....tomorrow is the coldest and windiest forecast this week....might postpone as I dont care much for -20C + bise windchill !!!
DeleteWe should be fine...We do snow running!
ReplyDeleteSo, where and when? Wind should be ok if we stay in the forest, but take something to cover your face.

OK I have confirmation from La Genoliere - they expect us by 20:30 - 5 people : Missile, Boum Boum, Dopey, Labrico, Nascar!!
DeleteSo last decision - skating or snowshoeing ?
... backcountry skis inside the forest ;-)
DeleteBackcountry then, we can go together with the snowshoers.
ReplyDeleteDopey: I have your second pair of snowshoes if i.e. Labrico needs them.
Michel: s.t.p. peut tu te passer par chez moi pour monter ensemble?
ReplyDelete6h30?
