The new Harley

Joe Balls, Papy & I had a surprise in Voirons last September
Introducing Olivier's electric motorcycle, who lives in Veigy and was a mechanic
As you can see, it's a prototype, but it allowed him to climb the road from Saint-Cergues to the forest track at 40km/h! Of course you can also pedal;-)
The engine has 1000 watts and the big ring has 60 teeth, who can do better?
He has even given a nickname to his electric motorcycle, in text ...
... and in picture! Hmm, I still think between the Harley and the electric motorcycle!

Nameless.....you name it - Ride report!

Tuesday night 6 riders of which 3 set out to discover the Lausanne / Belmont woods. An epic ride it was!!

Here is input, comments, points and other stuff:
- Riders: Limoncello, Labrico, Dopey, Nameless (host), Beau Joe Lais and Renaud (is that spelled correct?)
- Distance: 32km
- Meters climbed: 830m
- Average speed: 11,3 km/h
- Time being out in the woods: 3h30....return 23h00!
- Encounters: One Bambi, one dog, one lonely nightly fisherman(?), lots of mud, one tree specially planned years ago for Renaud (tree hugger!) and 400 slippery wooden bridges.
- No mechanicals....not even for N...less!
- I think we turned Nameless his bathrooms in to a mud pool....Sorry! The pressure washer was excellent though and a good clean for Beau Joe lais.
- Good food and fruit juice. Renaud liked his red wine so much he wanted to share all with me....including my jeans, underwear and shirt! Up yours :-)
- According to connaisseurs it was Beau Joe Lais last shower before his departure to Chile. He couldn't understand why he wasn't allowed on the couch with his muddy bike shorts. Luckily Namless shorted him out with clean short so he could join us sitting.....Dirt? It must be a mind Game....!
Points recommendation:
- Limoncello + 2 point for making all the way from Cat as only Cat and to be well on time!
- Labrico: all his ride points to Nameless for being late once again!
- Dopey - 1 for arguing with the host
- Renaud +0.5 for his good effort in tree hugging!

Kettle Moraine - Wisconsin

Kettle Moraine National Forest

Back Yard Bikes
Really to be recommended - Lots of Niners for rent (Air/AirCarbon/Jet) and they even had an RDO for sale!!! Really friendly and helpful. Park at the store and ride to the trail head (John Muir).
55$ a day for a Niner Jet.

John Muir Trails:
Only ONE WAY single track!! Pedal fast with the confidence of not running into anybody: awesome. Varying surfaces from flat hardpack, to bumpy rock strewn single track to sandy, a few roller coasters with berms, fast flow, a few small uphills - max 20 30 metres at a time.
Overall really fast!! Well signposted, no way to get lost.
Only small downside is that except for few meadows its all in the forest - but only a small downside.
Longest loop:  12 Miles. Total of 5 Trails

Emma Carlin Trails:
Same as John Muir, but much tighter turns on the whole.
Longest Loop: 5 miles.

Connecter Trail(s):
Much the same but on the southern direction an amazing series of sandy berms through a pine forest! Race time!!!! Also, much more open terrain, partly through fields/meadows.
5 miles each way.

Bottom Line:
If you are in the area, you wont be disappointed

Kermit green!!! I love it!!

The Destroyer!!!

> Yanks are NUTS. For sale in a place called....wait for it....Lake Geneva!!!

Chamonix-Geneva, Sunday, October 9, 2011

Who is interested in a long ride along the Arve? It is 100km between Chamonix and Geneva for 5 hours (plus breaks), 750m of positive and 1350m of negative. Depending on the number of participants, we go by car or take the train from Annemasse at 10:48.
Here is the ride and some memories of the July 11, 2010:

Husky loves the water...

...but not No. 5

3DC, Papy & Zulu being fun of the situation!
