Dimanche matin superbe randonnée sur le Salève sous le Soleil, pas une goute de pluie72km 2150m positif, découvert de superbes singles pour Simon et Oscar.
Les mecs du club des Montailloux ont effectué un super Job, ils doivent avoir 20 Boumboum pour tailler la foret et refaire les chemins.
De loin le plus tour que j'ai eu l'occasion d'effectuer autour du bassin lémanique et arriver bien crevé chez moi.
J'ai bien profité de rouler ce weekend car à partir de mardi je suis Out pour quelques jours, je dois subir une intervention sur mon coude qui me gène depuis des mois.
C'est Papy qui va être content... Mais peut être que je vais essayer de modifier mon guidon pour rouler avec un seul bras...

Cette après-midi j'ai fais la reconnaissance de la Randonnée des Montailloux, le chemin tout gras que nous avions tenté de faire lors de notre sortie sur le Salève à été refais et le tour est nickel.

Tracks conditions: muddy, slippery, bushy, thorny, technical..but rolling
Weather: sunny, another perfect evening
No flat, no spill, no blood, but one mechanical..

First Impressions Tallboy Carbon

I couldnt wait....the bloody rear wheel adapter is still missing, my lefty cant be fitted yet so i stole a specialised wheel fron Jason - 142+ is not 142...(just ask me) and witha tad of finagling i managed to get out.

AWESOME. Climbs like a scalded cat. Descends like a bat out of hell. Scary fast.

Carbon just soaks up all the vibrations. Suspension is stiff when pedalling but still responsive on the small stuff.

More soon, but it blows kermit out of the water.

Cant wait to get my lefty on there - superior than the Fox I think but we shall see.

Fondue ride report, September 10th, WHO SAID RAIN?

29kms ridden, 2,4kg cheese eaten, 570m climbed for 1270m downhill.

A bit of rain during the afternoon left the trails a bit wet, surprisingly calm night afterwards made our ride home a breeze.

Minus, because without minus this wouldn't be a ride:
- Fossil trotinette award to BeauJoeLais, no excuses here, yours or not come with a serviced bike. The forfait includes several tire levers broken, a borrowed tire and NoName's patience. -2
- Fishes have sex into it mention to 3DC, water (or tea) instead of grape juice? -0.5
- Kartofelsack gold medal to Missile, you shouldn't do that at front of us :)). -1

And the bonus:
- Count to 100 and start again award to NoName, despite obstacles you still made it to the train with a smile. +0.5
- Waadtsteuer award to Weasel, thanks for the wine. +0.5
- Show time award to Missile, thanks for amuse us with your crash. +0.5

FONDUE RIDE. Tueday 10th Septembe. UPDATE.

Time has arrived and details are as follow:

3 departure options:

-My place at Tranchepied at 17:30 (No Name: all the times you will see are READY TO GO).

-17:55 train at L'Asse station (again: this is the time the train LEAVES). Few parking spots available.

-OR 18:30 at La Givrine.

You snooze.... you know the rest.

Itinerary:

Uphill from La Givrine to the Cabane des Electriciens.

Looong downhill (for the ones using the train) from the Cabane to either L'Asse or Tranchepied.

What to bring:
-Money (CHF is the local currency, no other) for the train. Demi-tarif if you have. Ticket machine at the train station, no train payment, so get on time for that also.
-Light/s for night riding, a little headlamp is good for the hut but not for biking.
-Warm and waterproof cloth, Jura is cold and can be wet (reason of our beautiful green mountains), you are advised now.
-A big backpack to share the groceries weight (Labrico: a little Camelbak does not apply).
-Survival kit.
-A serviced bike.

Negatives will be served accordingly by our beloved REF, positives also, I hope.

PLEASE: I might need you to confirm again even if you did it before on the previous post. DEADLINE on monday 9th. Train reservations need to be done and I will organize the food.

Ride Report Tuesday Sep 03rd. The Losts Ride and Logan's Tex-Mex

Riders: Nascar, Boum-Boum, LaBrico, Zorbas, Papy (host)
Distance: 31 km
Duration: 2 hours
Elevation: not worth mentionning..
Tracks & woods conditions: hard packed, dusty, bushy, no mosquitos...
Weather: sunny, no clouds, no wind, perfect summer night, brilliant sunset.

The mistake was to say "let's not take our phones, it is going to be an easy ride..."
Four kilometers into the ride we lost Zorbas who decided to follow an unkown biker.
Another four kilometers later, Nascar and Papy strolling in front realized the "roadies" LaBrico and Boum-Boum were not in tow and disappeared too...Yes, we rode but we did not ride together, each exploring the woods on a different route. As the sun was setting and stomachs growling, we all found our way to Logan's Mesquite Chicken Tex-Mex and refreshing beers. All at the same time and with the same amount of kilometers.....strange ride !
Spongex chocolate cake and Moevenpick's flavors were much welcome. Heated up conversations, sociaaaals and rememberances of LaBrico's "exploits" filled up the night...
