We (i) got off the GPS track twice - DOH - during the climb too...but it worked out
because we had even more downhill !!! We went all the way to the end of the valley...
then along some steepsided trails to col de cou...
then we blasted out way down - not even one pedestrian !! On a Sunday !!
Big grins all round

7 Bisses Revisited!!!
papy, labrico, nameless and missile
50km
Down: 2,244
Up: 1,175
It all started poorly
....I missed the opp to buy a caprice des dieux for the picnic...and lost time having to stop twice and still didint get my caprice des dieux...
...er three times as I had to buy some maps as GPS back up...
...labrico wasnt quite ready when I picked him up at his GF's place....GF number xx, I let you figure it out..
...but it was apparently not the one with the 'grosse balles' that he had "diddled" the night before!!
...meanwhile....nameless is busy also being (very) late.....(B.A.U.)
...meanwhile (rewind +-1 hour) Old Jo is getting ready and waiting for lisa to drop him off at the rendez-vous
...much later....missile and labrico arrive, nameless still not there....but arrives shortly after...
...papy has the time to have a sammich made for him...was it that good ??
and about 45minutes after the appointed hour we set-off...(we had to wait for labricos dumpathon to be over)
but then it got really REALLY good
4 hours of Crans/Montana/Chermignon/Lens/Sion bisses, ups, fast downs in an increasingly sauna like atmosphere. Awesome!! And we took the bus back to Crans which arrived at EXACTLY 18:06 as the schedule suggested. I love Switzerland !!
Points
Hosting: Missile
-0.5 for missile, nameless and labrico for being VERY late
0 new bike points for Labrico - seriously!! Yet another new bike...
+0.5 for papy for outstanding waiting patience

Ride Report - Les Passerelles du lac de Joux - July 23, 2013
Not easy to get there as Paleo festival was hampering accesses...
Rode along the lake on its famous wooden passerelles (not quite BC but fun) the LaBrico in tow and usual "Grand Prix Miko" spirit. 3DC was there, closing the ride, after 2 weeks sitting on a KTM alternatively his HD....BJL played Indiana Jones on a challenging cliff trail. Now we know how to carry our bikes on a rocky steep climb.. Surprise of the day - a wild unafraid chamois herd we met. A swinging single trail brought us back to the lake shore and to a final jump & swim - how sweet.
Full Moon was with us all the way back home - late...
Participants: LaBrico, BJL, Marco, 3DC, Papy & Xavier
Stats:
24km - ridiculous 135m climb - about 2 hours
Discovery and Fun factor: 10 out of 10
Points: (bikers please feel free to add/comment)
Usual points for invite, lead and attendance.
+0.5 to 3DC - bloody shin - tumble in cliff
-0.5 to 3DC - late and lost arrivals ...
+0.5 to 3DC - restaurant suggestion - Hotel de la Truite..a treat...
+0.5 to BJL - surpassing climbing skills and trail discovery
+0.5 to Papy - negotiations skills, restaurant's kitchen closes at 9pm..we arrived at 9.30pm..
+0.5 to Marco - improving his french language...listening patiently to us blablying...
+0.5 to LaBrico - for Michael Jackson shoes...have you seen my new shoes !!??

Ride Report One - Invite in Beautiful Valais - July 20-21, 2013
Day One - Nameless The Revival:
To all, Nameless was there in fine shape and spirit, bike ready and serviced.
We biked Crans-Montana single tracks down and rode up the fire roads, had fun single tracking and trained well going up, the Nameless heading indeed ! Day came to an end too quickly and the Paella was waiting for Nameless...so he was gone as quickly as he arrived !
No OTB, no blood, no chain breakage, no flat, a fine ride on a sunny day - playing hide and seek with storm clouds. Bravo Nameless - I truly enjoyed.
Stats:
Time: about 2.23 hours on the saddle
Distance: 25.7 km
Elevation: 876 m
Max speed: 45.7 kmh
Points:
Usual pointage for invite/trail leading and attendance to participants (Nameless + Papy)
+1 extra point to Nameless for joining to the Invite (only him..)
+0.5 to Nameless for fine shape and leading uphill.
+0.5 to Papy for skillfully mastering an infamous stump.
Day Two - The Flynnster Dawn of a Downhiller:
Downhilling was the name of the day. The Flynnster and Papy headed for a full day riding down the CM downhills tracks. Dusty, bumpy and speedy tracks, we mastered them..; - )) well survived I mean.....
Time: around 3hours on the bike - not on the saddle
Distance: 27 km
Dowhilling: 2,876 m
Max speed: 50.8 kmh
Points:
+ 1 to The Flynnster for attendance
+ 1 to The Flynnster for not falling and giving his dad a heart attack !

Suspension, Hub and BB Bearing Replacement Proposition
I hate getting a hammer to my bike to hammer out, and then in, the bearings on my bike(s). Home made tools sometimes work, but mostly are a real pain in the ass to use and still don't do the job correctly - (off centre/axis) - not aligned etc. etc.
And as many of us have carbon bikes now using a hammer is even more of a no no. So.......
I recently acquired a set of semi-pro tools to REMOVE bearings (bearing puller) and REPLACE bearings (bearing press) that will allow me to replace MOST BB, suspension and hub bearings easily, professionally and quickly.
So if you get the bearing set you need, I will replace them for you. However, as the tools cost 'a lot', I hope for a small contribution (20.-) to recoup their cost and their use. My labour comes, as ever, "free", beers welcome + I will show you how to use them!!
So...keep me in mind when it comes to replacing the bearings - I'll be cheaper than your local shop for sure, and more fun too!!
Bearing Press - Handles ALL bearing sizes, for ALL suspension frames, also does BB's: BB30, Hollowtech 2, Hope, etc. etc.) as well as most wheel hubs.
Bearing Puller (Slide Hammer - 8mm to 30mm inner bearing diameter). Just fine for all bearings on your bike !!!

Tuesday 9th - ride at Crozet
For next Tuesday, I finally organize my first official ride :-)
Meeting point: 18:00 at parking des Crozet @ cable car’s parking, you can't miss it!
(We can postpone to 18:30 for professional reasons, just let us know and I confirm)
Program, ride up to the Ratou and back down (no cable car).
Bring additional protection but at least kneepads and good suspensions for a rocky downhill. It's possible to ride different difficulties when going down, it will depend on the weather and you. Check the website, red track is not more difficult than Saleve, my special track will be more challenging but no big jumps.
Lunch at my place, avenue de Trembley 3, Geneva 1209. Please confirm by Monday or you will miss the desert.
As said it is Geneva leave your bike inside your car and hide it!!! For parking I only have 1 guest place, I recommend to park on the rue de Moillebeau there are plenty of park places on "zone bleu". Disclaimer: if you park on visitor parking of other buildings it is at your own risk!
If dogs wants to come by train, I have 1-2 places in my car, let's meet 45 min before the rendez-vous at my place (5min from Cornavin).
cheers
